The Conservancy's scorpions are attracting quite an impressive fan club. Fifty keen explorers turned up for Jonathan Leeming's Scorpion Walk on 2 May. The RNC's website, www.rhenosterspruit.co.za, has had just over 20 000 visitors since January 2009 and the photo gallery has been viewed 24 000 times! A significant number of visitors are from outside South Africa, particularly from the US, followed by Germany, Mauritius, UK, France and Japan.
Five fun-filled days! Fifty needy kids from Pretoria environs will be the lucky ones selected to attend a camp in Laezonia in June. Local residents, Riaan and Angelique Lotter and Karen Foster, assisted by a team of helpers, are pulling out all stops to make this a memorable occasion for kids from six to 12 years of age. Many have never been out of the city and some come from broken or destitute families.
