Nick Foster in Doornrandje found an eland wandering around their place. At some point the eland jumped and broke the electric fence around Fossils and then jumped out again. It probably escaped from the Roodekrans Game Farm. Its present whereabouts are not known.
The Angus’s place (H&D) is a veritable zoo. Stella sent the following note: “We’ve recorded porcupine, caracal, small spotted genet, jackal, steenbok, duiker, scrub hare, angoni vlei rat, red toad, bubbling kassima bullfrog, mozambique spitting cobra, puffadder, river frog, bats, tree mouse, yellow and slender mongoose and 54 species of birds.”
Brian Mairs in Doornandje had an unexpected visitor saunter through the garden. "One moment I am watching the braai, and the next, this fellow arrived."
Louise Balfour (H&D) reported their Jack Russell being killed by a blow from a leguan’s tail. “But this is mainly a snake and scorpion year,” she says.
