The Crocodile River Reserve has many talented artists, photographers and sculptors. Corlette Wessels of Vlakfontein’s pic of a rather bemused baboon among butterflies in the Kgalagadi National Park was one of Africa Geographic’s top choices. “I’ve lost my heart to the Kgalagadi - one of the most special places on earth.”

Shane Rorke of Hills and Dales shot this dramatic pic on a tour of Namibia. The “model” is his son, Ben. “He took to the desert like a pro. I miss this magical country so much already.”

Karen Davidson, Riverside Estates, on communication with an uninvited guest.

“Look what I found in my garden, munching on my potted frangipani!” Karen reported on Facebook - with a pic of said guest. “We had a nice chat. He agreed to move on.”

“Quite a handsome fellow,” commented Janine. “On the contrary,” said Eileen, “He looks like someone from Star Wars.”

“He did have the demeanor too,” agreed Karen. “He looked me straight in the eye as I told him about my dismay in watching him eat my plant. He was living there for three days. He left after we had our chat. As if he understood…”

“Had his family over for a visit to my place,” complained Mary. “Created havoc in my veggie garden. Re-instated the death penalty and they all left. They understood too…”
